Kane Mountain Firetower

On Thursday Dad, Mom and I went to the southern Adirondacks to hike up to the Kane Mountain Firetower. Mom opted not to hike, and just wait in the car. So what Dad and I did since there were two ways up was to take the shorter but more steeper way up (Schoolhouse Rd), and head down the longer but not as steep side (Green Lake Rd). Weather was perfect, sun, very few clouds. Only saw one other hiker there. Here is my track of the hike. Afterwards we went to the bustling metropolis of Arietta and had lunch at the Arietta Hotel, one of those hidden gems of the Adirondacks that can’t be found on the web. If you need a chainsaw, there’s a raffle for one in Feb, details are on the signs in the bathrooms.
