Bearpen Peak snowshoe

On Sunday, I met up with a couple guys from the Adirondack Wilderness Explorers Meetup group to snowshoe up Bearpen Peak and the Long Tom Ridge in the southern Adirondacks. After meeting up with Bill, we drove to the meeting point for the start of the snowshoe, which would be a roadwalk, before breaking off into the woods.

With the leaves down and bright blue skies, we were getting a lot of nice views of the surrounding area, like this one.

After about three quarters of a mile, it was time to strap on the snowshoes and head up

At this point I opted out of the rest of the hike and headed back to the cars while the others continued on. Followed my tracks back down to the road, and followed it past the camps. I did see this painted rock outside one camp.

All together, a good day to be out in the sun.
